Terms & Participation
Spotlight Collective is a curated, points-based exchange designed to keep beautiful, performance-ready costumes in motion.
Instead of selling and repurchasing, members send in costumes and receive points to use toward what’s next — often creating a one-for-one exchange in value.
How It Works
When your costume is accepted, you receive points based on its value.
You can use those points to select another costume from the collection — whether that’s one piece of similar value or multiple pieces that fit your needs.
Points:
Are used within the Collective (not for cash)
Do not expire
Can be shared with another dancer or your studio
Most costumes fall within these general ranges:
• Basic pieces: ~100 points
• Embellished costumes: ~200 points
• Custom or semi-custom: ~300 points
• New or premium custom: ~400+ points
Final point values are based on quality, detail, and condition.
Costume Standards
All costumes in the Collective are pre-owned and carefully reviewed to meet performance-ready standards.
Because each piece has been worn, minor signs of use may be present.
We look for costumes that are:
Clean and well cared for
Free from visible stains or damage
Free from strong odors
Complete, with embellishments intact
Every piece is inspected before being accepted into the collection.
Sending Costumes
Once received, each costume is reviewed and assigned a point value based on its quality, detail, and overall condition.
We reserve the right to:
Accept or decline items
Assign point values accordingly
Points are issued after a costume is accepted into the Collective.
If a costume does not meet our standards, you may choose to:
Have it returned (shipping costs apply), or
Donate it to our partner, Dancing for a Difference
Choosing Costumes
Each costume is presented as performance-ready, with photos and details provided to help guide your selection.
Because items are pre-owned:
Fit and styling may vary
Minor imperfections may be present
All selections are final.
Shipping and handling fees apply.
Participation
By participating, you understand that Spotlight Collective is a curated exchange of pre-owned costumes and that selections are made accordingly.
A Note on Flexibility
One of the benefits of the Collective is flexibility.
You can use your points in the way that works best for you — whether that’s selecting one standout piece, multiple simpler costumes, or even passing your points along to support another dancer or studio.

We may update these terms from time to time as the Collective grows. Continued participation reflects acceptance of any updates.e.
